‘Te Tai Whakaea – The Raukawa Settlement Journey, is the story of the iwi Raukawa in the Central North Island and the pathway they chose to settle their historical treaty claims.

This story covers the highs and lows of the settlement process and provides a glimpse into the negotiations between Raukawa, the Crown, and other iwi, as told by those who were personally involved in the process.

It gives an insight into the challenges the iwi faced and how they combined to find solutions to get to where they are today.

Te Tai Whakaea – The Raukawa Treaty Settlement Journey chronicles the experiences of the iwi of Raukawa in the central North Island in the settlement of their historical treaty claims.

It highlights the negotiations between Raukawa and the Crown and how the iwi achieved settlement, the settlement process and the many difficulties the iwi faced and how they were overcome. This is explored and recounted in the voices of those who were intimately involved in the settlement process.
